Luxy Hair clip-in extensions, regular or seamless, rarely experience shedding. While the base of our seamless sets are thinner, they do not shed any more because of this.
The type of care that is put into your extensions will affect how much it sheds. With proper care, shedding will be virtually non-existent. You can minimize shedding by maintaining your Luxies and gently brushing them before and after each use. To learn how to properly brush hair extensions, please watch the helpful tutorial we created below.
When styling your seamless extensions with high heat, we recommend to set your tool at 80C/176F degrees or lower. Anything higher may run the risk of damaging the hair, as with any other clip-in extensions. This is because the hair is not being revitalized at the scalp like our own hair is, and over time excessive heat and high temperatures may cause wear and tear to your set, and could potentially loosen the silicone bond with the hair. Generally speaking, heat will not damage the base of the weft unless it is very high.
One of the best thing about our extensions? They don’t need to be styled at a high heat temperature any way to see results. Our extensions will curl and straighten with ease using low heat.
Just like any set of clip-in extensions (seamless or regular), we advise you to care for your Luxies with love. Watch the video below for our top tips on how to care for your extensions to ensure they live a long and happy life.
With your seamless set, we recommend to be more gentle while handling the clips because they are stitched onto the silicone base directly. We advise against pulling or pressing the clips with strong force, as it may eventually cause damage to your set.
As with our regular sets, seamless hair extensions can be washed using warm water and shampoo and conditioner.
Seamless extensions are different from regular extensions in the way that they are styled and how they are manufactured, although, we find it all just comes down to personal preference. Seamless extensions have a silicone base, which means they have a unique stretch and more movement and flexibility, while our classic collection has a fabric stitched base.
Our seamless extensions are 50% thinner at the base of the wefts than our regular extensions, which means you will barely feel them when clipped in. The clips, similar to our regular extensions, are hand stitched with love.
To put it in simpler terms: you’re not going to even notice you’re wearing clip-ins with a set of seamless extensions in your hair.
Luxy Hair extensions come in 13 different shades, ranging from Jet Black to Ash Blonde. Luxies are dyed using a multi-tonal adapt system, which means that there are subtle highlights and lowlights, lighter strands and darker strands throughout each set. This gives the shades movement, dimension, and depth. It also ensures that the extensions blend with your natural hair even if your hair colour is a shade or two off.
To choose your perfect Luxy shade, please watch the video below, which explains the differences between each colour.
If you are still having trouble choosing your shade, email us at email@example.com with a recent selfie taken in natural lighting with no direct sunlight, where we can see you hair from top to bottom, and with no filters added - similar to the photo below. The Luxy Hair Support team will be happy to make a recommendation!
All of our hair is sourced and manufactured in China. We source our hair straight from verified distributors, who depend on their long-standing reputation for ethical sourcing and quality hair.
We only choose to work with companies where workers are satisfied and happy to be apart of the team. Luxy facilities employ working age staff (mostly middle age women and men) who get a proper salary, normal working hours, weekends off, and holiday leave.
Also, all of our hair is donated, sold, or exchanged fairly. For example, some of our hair is obtained from temples, where hair is a form of donation and a source of revenue for the monastery/ temple for its own expenses and projects. Therefore, it's a from of meritorious deed for the donor, same as donating money or food. We also obtain our hair from many hair salons, who choose to sell their hair instead of throwing it away into the waste stream.

We do not recommend to have Luxies sewn in to your hair because wearing your Luxies while sleeping and constantly having them washed are just a couple of factors that will deteriorate your set quicker. We recommend to always clip out your Luxies each night before bed, and to wash them separately.
We are happy to offer a maximum of two complimentary sample swatches to our customers within the U.S. and Canada. If you are interested in sampling a couple of our swatches, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will pass along our unique link to shop.
To interested customers who live internationally, kindly note that all Luxies come with a tester weft available in the bottom compartment of the box. This weft can be used to determine whether or not the shade is the right match for you. If it's not an ideal match, we're more than happy to accommodate a return or exchange on unopened items.
Also, we're happy to help you select your ideal Luxy match. Please send over some photos of your hair taken in natural lighting where we can see it fully to email@example.com, similar to the photo below.
Meanwhile, if you haven't already, we suggest to watch our video below on how to select your perfect Luxy shade, which we believe you will find very helpful.
All Luxy Hair extensions come in a full head set and we therefore do not have individual wefts available for sale at this time.
No, we do not offer pre-curled/waved hair extensions at this time. Because Luxy Hair extensions are of Chinese origin, they naturally come straight. Since they are made of 100% remy human hair, however, they can be styled to curls or waves using hot tools to match your own hair’s texture. Click here to learn more about using heat on your Luxies.
Looking for different ways to curl your hair? Check out our tutorial below.
All Luxy Hair extensions are offered in a standard 20 inch length. If you are looking for a shorter length, you’re always welcome to have your Luxies cut or trimmed shorter by an experienced hair stylist since they are made of 100% remy human hair. If you decide to get them cut, we recommend having them already clipped into your hair during the hair appointment. We also recommend coming up with a numbering system for the wefts, so that you know exactly where each weft is supposed to be clipped in for the future uses.
Alternatively, we do offer a limited edition 24 inch collection, which can be viewed here.
Kindly note that most shades in this collection have now completely sold out and will no longer be re-stocked. If you do not see your ideal Luxy match, you’re welcome to opt for the next lightest option available and to have your Luxies custom-dyed a darker color by an experienced colorist.
For best results, we recommend that your hair be at least 6-7 inches in length (that’s around shoulder length).
It is ideal to go for a heavier set when blending Luxies with short hair, to ensure that there is enough hair on each weft to work with and create a seamless blend. If you have fine hair, we recommend to go for the 160g set, otherwise, for medium to thick hair types, the 220g will be ideal.
For some tips on how to blend in Luxies with short hair, read our blog post here.
When choosing your ideal Luxy weight, it's important to opt for a set that best matches your hair type. Our 120g set is specifically designed for those with a fine hair type and is great for adding length and some natural volume to your hair. This set comes with one less weft than our 160g and 220g sets. Our 160g set is our most popular set and is ideal for those with a medium-thick hair type. Often times, it can also often be worn if you have finer hair and are looking to add more volume. Our 220g set is our heaviest set and is catered for those who already have thick hair and are looking for that extra voluminous look.
The reason why it's so important to opt for a set that best matches your hair type is because it will help you achieve the most natural blend. For example, even if you have thick hair and don’t want to add any more volume, we still recommend to go for our 220g set because if you opt for a lighter weight, it may result in the extensions appearing “stringy” or unnatural in your hair. Alternatively, if you have thin hair but want to add a lot more volume, we recommend to go for our 120g or 160g set, otherwise, opting for our 220g set may be too heavy for your hair, which can cause discomfort.
All Luxy Hair extensions are sold in a full head set and are made of the same high quality grade 100% remy human hair. The only difference between each set is the weight. The higher the grams, the more hair that is attached to each weft. The individual strands themselves will remain consistent in thickness.
The following pieces will be included in each set:
Our 120g set has a total of 9 pieces: 1 x 8” weft, 2 x 6” wefts, 2 x 4”wefts, 4 x 1” wefts
Our 160g set has a total of 10 pieces: 10: 1 x 8” weft, 1 x 7" weft, 2 x 6” wefts, 2 x 4”wefts, 4 x 1” wefts
Our 220g set has a total of 10 pieces: 10: 1 x 8” weft, 1 x 7" weft, 2 x 6” wefts, 2 x 4”wefts, 4 x 1” wefts
No, there are no soy or nut ingredients used in the hair treatment materials used.
No, clip-in hair extensions are not capable of causing bald spots or hair loss.
The typical process for hair growth is when the follicle produces normal strands of hair that grow out over a couple of years, then shed to produce new growth. When a hair follicle is affected, however, it shrinks and becomes smaller in size, and produces hair that is finer than normal. While new hair typically stays put for a couple of years before shedding, affected hair follicles shed much quicker and grows out much slower. As a result, the follicle is not able to continue the proper hair growth life cycle, resulting in balding.
If you are experiencing balding or excessive hair loss, we recommend to consult with your doctor.
Yes, Luxy Hair extensions are considered to be hypoallergenic as there is no glue or metal that will cause allergy. Please, however, check the tester weft located in the bottom compartment of the box before fully opening your set to see if you’re comfortable with the hair. This way, we can still accept your package back for a full refund if you decide it’s not a good match for you.
The shorter hairs you see in your set are specifically applied during the manufacturing level to help those who already have layers in their hair, and to help create more dimension in the set. These additional layers make the hair in the set look more natural because we also have shorter strands of hair throughout our head because all hair sheds and grows at different rates.
The lifespan of Luxy Hair extensions is determined by how well they are taken care of, what products are used on them, and how often they are worn. Usually, the lifespan of Luxy Hair Extensions is 3-6 months up to a year or longer, depending on the general care they receive.
In order to keep your extensions in the best shape possible, we recommend watching the below video we have created about Care and Tips for your Luxy Hair Extensions.
As with any clip-in hair extensions, Luxy Hair extensions will have some normal and expected hair-fallout, especially when you first receive and start using your hair extensions. Some hair fallout will continue throughout the entire lifespan of your clip-in hair extensions, which is an expected occurrence, since clip-in hair extensions are a temporary solution to long hair.
You can minimize shedding/hair-fallout, by maintaining your hair extensions with utmost care, and gently brushing them before and after each use. To learn how to properly brush hair extensions, please watch the helpful tutorial we created below.
As for tangling, just like your natural hair, hair extensions can and may tangle. When wearing Luxies, we recommend that you brush them throughout the day with a paddle brush, to keep them tangle free and smooth. For more care and tips on how to avoid tangling with both your hair and extensions, click here.
In order to keep your extensions in the best shape possible, we recommend watching the below video we have created about Care and Tips for your Luxy Hair Extensions.
For those who have a combination of shades in their hair, we always recommend going for a set that matches the lightest highlight or portion of your hair. This is because although Luxy Hair Extensions can be dyed a darker colour - we do not recommend bleaching them. Bleaching is a harmful process that can alter the quality of your set, and even damage it.
You will have to take your set to a professional hair colourist, who has had previous experience dyeing hair extensions, to have them add in lowlights or dye the roots a darker colour in order to achieve an overall match. If you do decide to get them dyed, we recommend that you test a one clip weft prior to dyeing the full set, to ensure that you are satisfied with the results.
Although different companies suggest different lengths, we find that for best results, your hair should be about 6-7 inches in length for the extensions to blend naturally (that's somewhere in-between chin and shoulder length).
Have shorter hair and wondering how Luxies will blend? Check our our blog post here on how to blend in Luxies with short hair.
We also have a tutorial on how to clip in and blend Luxies with short/medium length hair.
Hair extensions made from human hair can be dyed a darker colour, styled with hot tools (curled or straightened), washed frequently, and treated just like you would your own natural hair.
You can basically make your hair goals come true. Looking for some inspo? Check out our YouTube channel - we have a endless list of hair tutorials using clip-in extensions.
On the other hand, hair extensions made from synthetic hair are sensitive to the sun, are difficult to style and blend with your own hair, and typically don't have the same lifespan as human hair extensions. Human hair extensions can last up to a year or longer if they are properly cared for.

You can expect to pay anywhere from $60-$85 USD for synthetic hair extensions, and anywhere from $100-$500 USD for human hair extensions.
The quality you should look for when buying clip-in hair extensions is remy human hair. Remy hair is considered to be the finest quality of human hair available on the market today, because the cuticles are kept intact and not stripped, like in most other non-remy hair extensions. Preserving the hairs cuticles and aligning them in an unidirectional fashion creates extensions that are completely natural in appearance. This process ensures that the hair remains super soft, shiny, silky and mainly tangle-free throughout its lifetime.
Luxy Hair clip-in extensions use only the finest quality remy human hair, which means that the hair has been carefully sorted after collecting from the hair donor to ensure all the cuticles are of the same length. It is by far the best quality of clip-in human hair extensions on the market because of the care that is required and the time it takes to sort the hair so meticulously.

Clip-in hair extensions are a quick, easy, and temporary do it yourself approach to achieving longer and fuller hair, with no long-term bonding, pain, or damage to your hair. They are easily affixed and can be perfectly matched and blended with your own hair to create length, emphasize volume, or even to add highlights to your natural hair.
Still not convinced? Read our blog post here on 6 reasons to wear hair extensions.
All clip-in hair extensions come in one or multiple pieces, which are called wefts, that will vary in width. Extensions can be clipped in and out of your hair in a matter of minutes and are practically invisible. They are by far the fastest and most affordable way to transform the look of your hair without breaking the bank or damaging your natural hair.
Don't believe it will only take a few minutes to clip in? Watch our tutorial below.
Who can wear them? Just about anyone! They are safe for men, women, and even children to wear. For anyone experiencing severe hair loss, however, we recommend you consult a doctor first prior to purchasing clip-in hair extensions to ensure it is the right resource for you.
